The popular Aspen Medical Group had advertised for the post of a new director for the emergency medicine department, with an attractive a remuneration package of $500,000-plus. This is believed to pave way for enormous discrepancies in terms of equality in the Queensland's health system, according to Lawrence Springborg, leader of opposition.Although Steve Hambleton of the Australian Medical Association has stated that it involves unusual circumstances. However, Glenn, Managing director of Aspen Medical Group has defended his stand by saying that it is not an expensive offer. 'The vast bulk of the salary is in line with the award, as agreed between the Government and the doctors,' he concluded.
So far, six doctors have applied for the position following advertisement. The medical group is yet to announce who would be the most eligible.
