Expectant Mothers Suffering Cancer can Heave a Sigh of Relief
A recent insight may provide a sense of relief to expectant mothers who are victims of cancer and are undergoing chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy during pregnancy is safe for children and does not cause abortions or premature deliveries, researchers said.

Babies that completed full-term , born to women who received chemotherapy during pregnancy, enjoyed normal health and intelligence.

Often, doctors induce delivery following cancer diagnosis in the expectant mother so that treatment can be started.

The study showed that the babies induced prematurely in order to provide treatment for the mother did not fare well in the intelligence tests.
