COGNISION system can be used to detect brainwave markers that point to the existence of certain neurological diseases. Neuronetrix, a local firm, landed FDA clearance for the COGNISION system.
The brainwave markers are produced by quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) and event-related potential (ERP) data processed by the company's online server.
Based on the characteristic brainwave patterns results from the system are compared to data from previous studies of qEEG/ERP to classify patients. This technology will serve as a useful modality for diagnosing a variety of neurological conditions.
The diseases of the brain, spinal cord and the nerves that connect them are neurological disorders. Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, stroke, brain tumors are the commonly known neurological disorders.
