Epilepsy in Low-income Countries is a Cause of Concern
Tackling preventable causes and improving access to treatment, may be a proven way to reduce the burden of epilepsy in poorer parts of the world, a recent review has revealed.
The onus clearly is on the health agencies across the globe to collaborate and address management of epilepsy with special focus on low and lower middle income countries.

Even though epilepsy happens to be one of the most cost effective disorders to treat, there are twice as many victims in low and middle income countries as compared to the richer nations.

Lack of adherence to treatment and stigma about the disease are some of the biggest challenges in management of the disease in underprivileged nations.
