Enroll America Starts Get Covered America Program
Enroll America, a backer of the Affordable Care Act, formally launched its Get Covered America program in a bid to educate millions of Americans about their insurance options – the beginning of next year.
“We are at a place where…78% of the uninsured aren’t even aware of what’s coming their way,” said Anne Filipic, the president of Enroll America who joined the organization earlier this year after previously working in the White House. “Our goal is to change that number.”

The exchanges for enrolment for health insurance become operative on October 1st and the insurance will be effective from 1st of January 2014.

Enroll America plan to hold a minimum of 50 events in 18 states which include a farmer’s market in Austin, Private homes in Florida and Tennessee, churches in New Jersey and Texas, a doctor's office in Delaware and an Irish pub in Cinncinnati. These places will be used to discuss the health law and employ additional volunteers to join the program.

These events and door to door campaigning will be held all through summer.

Someone who is familiar with Enroll America’s campaign said that the group planned to spend millions of dollars for media coverage and far reaching advertisement.

Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius is facing a lot of criticism for her fundraising efforts by the Republicans – which is on behalf of Enroll America, Anne Filipic was not available for comment.
