Employment Furnished by Pharmaceutical Company for Kashmiri Youth
The pharmaceutical company set up in Jammu and Kashmir is godsend for educated youth in the valley, where they get to work and enhance their technical skills at the same time.

The medicines manufactured at the pharma company are exported to Central Asia and has resulted in the creation of Kazakhstan and Russia for the people of Srinagar.

Jan Mohammad Wani, an employee, expressed his joy as he got employed in the company and added that his technical knowledge had enhanced after working in the company.

"I am so happy that in this industry we have got such a good company to work in. We are very happy that we are working in our area and in a good company and I got a job. I did my BA and after that I didn't get a job but now I am working in Protech Bio Pharma Company. I have learnt the technical work here and it has been two months our company has started, it opened on October 21 and till today I learnt technical work here in the company," said Wani.

The pharmaceutical company, which is the first of its kind in the Valley sends their consignment to international markets including Kazakhstan and Russia.

Talking to mediapersons, Manzoor Ahmad, an employee urged the state government to take adequate steps to ensure that more such companies are set up in the Valley as it would help the youth to earn their livelihood.

"Development is necessary here, more than 15 boys are here, who work in the company and all of us are enjoying the work as we can now easily earn money and we want from the state government that they should develop more companies like this, so that more people can get jobs here and earn money for themselves and their families," said Ahmad.

In a bid to maintain the high standards of the quality of medicines that are manufactured, the company has set up high technology machinery in various laboratories.

There are separate divisions where chemical, instrumental and microbiological tests are conducted.

Industrialization is yet to pick up pace in Jammu and Kashmir due to militancy for more than two decades.

The opening of the pharmaceutical company has brought a ray of hope to the educated youth, who feel optimistic that they would be able to earn their bread and butter without having to leave their hometown.

In the wake of Kashmir, being engulfed by militancy, there were very few employment opportunities for the people in the Valley.
