Emma and Noah Were the Most Popular Baby Names In the United States in 2014
According to the Social Security Administration, Noah claimed the best name throne in the boys’ list for the second consecutive time, while Liam, Mason, Jacob and William completed the top five, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, Emma reprised the top spot for girls after 2008, and was followed by Olivia, Sophia, Isabella and Ava. The name’s popularity was influenced by the hit sitcom ’Friends,’ where the character Rachel names her daughter Emma.

Laura Wattenberg, the founder of BabynameWizard.com, said it was incredible that the name has managed to stay in demand, even while trends are constantly changing.

Meanwhile, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s newly born princess’ name, Charlotte, made the top 10 for the first time at no. 10, even before the baby’s name was announced.
