Eating Organic Foods may Not Provide Any Health Benefits
Contrary to popular belief, eating organic foods may not provide any additional health benefits compared to eating inorganic foods, a new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine reveals.
The study was conducted by researchers at Stanford University who analyzed more than 220 studies that looked into the nutrient and bacterial, fungal or pesticide contaminant levels in foods along with 17 randomized clinical trials in humans that were conducted over a period of two years.

The researchers found that the vitamin, protein and fat content was similar among both organic and inorganic foods though organic foods did contain higher amount of nitrogen while organic milk had a higher level of omega-3 content. The only major advantage one had by eating organic foods was that it cut down the level of exposure to pesticide.

“Some believe that organic food is always healthier and more nutritious. We were a little surprised that we didn't find that. There isn't much difference between organic and conventional foods, if you're an adult and making a decision based solely on your health”, lead researcher Dr Crystal Smith-Spangler said.
