Drug-Related Deaths on the Rise in the U.S
Drug-related deaths are increasing in the U.S and they outnumber motor vehicle fatalities. This is due to the rise in prescription narcotic overdose.
Nearly 37,485 drug-related fatalities occurred in 2009, according to the statistics of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In the last 10 years, the death toll due to drugs has doubled, and statistics show that every 14 minutes, somebody dies due to narcotic overdose.

It pays to know that strong prescription pain and anxiety drugs are addictive, and can turn lethal when combined with other drugs or alcohol.
