Many police stations in Lahore are accepting bribes to let prostitution rackets and drug dealers operate freely, an inside report has revealed.

According to a departmental report prepared on the direction of Lahore CCPO, prostitution is at its peak in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Qila Gujjar Singh, Gawalmandi, Naulakha and Gulberg police stations.

The News quoted the report as saying, that Station House Officers (SHOs) of these police stations receive bribes from various hotel owners on a monthly basis to let them run their illegal business.

The report adds that police raids are carried out on the hotels if the SHOs are not obliged, thus deals are struck between the two parties.

Various police officers and criminals are named in the report for their alleged involvement in drug business, gambling, land grabbing and prostitution in Lahore.
