Dr. Devi Shetty's Narayana Health Launches Cancer Institute for East India

The Narayana Health Network, founded by cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty, launched a dedicated cancer care facility, called the NH Cancer Institute, in West Bengal's Howrah for east India. A multidisciplinary team has been constituted for this hospital comprising of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, haemato-oncologist, radiologists and pathologists. Deepak Venugopalan, zonal director, east, Narayana Health, said, "The multi-disciplinary facility, located in Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, is equipped with 240 beds, of which 100 beds have been reserved exclusively for cancer patients."
A team of about 90 doctors would take care of the hospital operation, while 75 other consultants would handle the OPD. Last year, took over Westbank Health and Wellness Institute in Howrah. Renaming it the Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, the group has added a number of departments in oncology to create a Center of Excellence in Cancer Care; including oncoplastic breast surgery-oncology, gynecology-oncology, haemato-oncology, head-neck surgery, pediatric oncology and pain and palliation oncology.

Besides, the hospital also offers Cancer Combat Clinic for counseling of patients and second opinion clinics as well.
