Dogs, known for their loyalty and unflinching love for their masters now have a special spot in Brits’ hearts.

According to Pet Food Manufacturers' Association (PFMA), cats reigned supreme in 1994. Recent data from PFMA shows that the cat population has decreased from a high of 9.6 million to about 8.6 million.
The populations of dogs is now at 8.3 million and is showing a steady increase.
