Dog Breeds can Reveal Owners' Personality: Study

 Dog Breeds can Reveal Owners
Owner's personality can be revealed by his choice of dog breed, finds study.
The study by Bath Spa University looked at the personalities of owners of dogs in the Kennel Club's seven main breed categories.

It found that people who choose a Labrador are the most agreeable while those with foxhounds and beagles are calm owners.

"You can tell a lot about somebody's personality by the breed of dog they choose. Certain personality types are subconsciously drawn to certain breeds," the Daily Express quoted Dr Lance Workman, Bath Spa's head of psychology, as saying.

The study however, makes a mistake when it says that Winston Churchill's bulldog is an indication of his personality as a conscientious extrovert when, in reality, Churchill owned two miniature poodles.

The theory propounded by this study has its share of sceptics too, like Dr Roger Mugford, an animal psychologist.

"The driving force for choosing a dog is more likely the owner's lifestyle. I see a much bigger difference between cat and dog owners," he said.
