 Doctors Overworked in NHS Hospitals
A recent report has revealed the plight of patients in NHS hospitals as many not receive the care they expect and could end up putting their health at risk.
The report also found that junior doctors are putting in close to 100 hours per week.

The General Medical Council (GMC) report has revealed that many trainee doctors are "tired and stressed" because they are putting in double the amount of hour’s and exceeding the permissible limit of 48 hours per week.

This is being done to take care of staff shortages and nearly 55,000 junior doctors in the NHS seem to be working overtime.

The doctors who participated in the poll revealed that has been an increase in shift work and this is leaving them completely exhausted.

Niall Dickson, chief executive of the GMC, said: "It is clear the current system is not working as it should - in some cases doctors are still too tired and there are issues around continuity and training opportunities."
