Doctors Keen to Solve the Mystery Behind U.S. Navy Vet With Transient Global Amnesia
A U.S Navy vet, Michael Boatwright, was found unconscious in a Palm Springs Motel 6 in February.
Later, when he regained consciousness at a Desert Regional Medical Center hospital, he had no memory of who he was and could not speak a word of English. He believes his name is Johan Ek.

Doctors in California are perplexed and are trying to solve the mystery of his past as well as find the reason for his fluency with the Swedish language.

Authorities scrutinized some documents that were with him, like his ID, passport and medical card, and thus could identify him as Michael Boatwright.

Boatwright is unable to remember anything from his past. Doctors said Boatwright could be a victim of a condition known as Transient Global Amnesia which can be triggered by physical or emotional trauma. This condition is temporary, though it can go on for months.
