Doctor Performs 27 Sterilization Surgeries in an Hour

Authorities have ordered a query against a doctor in Uttar Pradesh for performing sterilization surgeries on 27 women in an hour at a primary health centre in Chandauli.

District Magistrate NK Singh said, "Chief Medical officer (CMO) has been asked to probe the alleged negligence in carrying out laparascopic tubectomy surgery on 27 women in one hour at a primary health centre at Niyamtabad here."

Patients were rested on the floor, as proper beds were not arranged ahead of conducting surgery. Severe action would be taken against the health official responsible for this negligence.

CMO Chandauli R N Singh, however, disproved claims of sterilization surgery on 27 women performed by a single doctor in one hour and said that the surgery was performed by two doctors and all procedures were followed except arranging proper bed for the patients.
