Dental Nurse Craves for Soaps and Sponges Due to Pica
A 21-year old dental nurse in Britain is suffering from a rare disease that makes her crave for non-food items such as sponges and soaps.
Kerry Trebilcock, of Mylor, Cornwall, suffers from a rare disorder known as pica, which makes the sufferer crave after non-nutritive food items such as clay or chalk. Trebilcock revealed that she has eaten more than 4,000 washing sponges and over a 100 bars of soap.

She often tries to “spice” up the sponges with hot mustard or dips them into tea or hot chocolate while lime and lemon are her preferred flavor of soap bars. She also carries a snack bag containing pieces of sponge along with tomato and BBQ sauce.
