The death toll due to dengue in Delhi has touched 30 while the number of infected people has risen to 9,438, reported authorities of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Official figures suggest that areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation recorded the highest number of cases at 2,248, while the lowest was recorded in areas under the East Delhi Municipal Corporation at 1,228.

These figures are the highest in the last six years for the period till October 10, 2015.

Following the rise in the number of dengue cases, the Delhi government recently purchased 400 new beds to accommodate dengue patients in its hospitals. So as to keep a check on the rising number of cases, doctors in government hospitals have also started providing treatment to patients without waiting for dengue reports.
