Delhi Hospital Reports to be Computerized

Delhi Hospital Reports to be Computerized
Hospitals in Delhi will now have to file their post mortem reports through computer print outs after a new directive from the Delhi government has asked the hospitals to cease filling the reports manually since doctors often get confused due to illegible handwriting.
The Delhi government swung into action following the recommendations of a court which suggested that post mortem and other medical reports be filed in a computerized format in order to make the legible for everyone.

The recommendations were given by Additional Sessions Judge Sanjeev Aggarwal who was hearing a criminal case back in April.

“In most of the cases, the writings in the Medico Legal Case(s)/postmortem reports are not at all legible and lot of time is consumed in deciphering the said writings. The MLCs, especially the postmortem reports be prepared by computer typing, rather than handwriting to save the time of the court, defence lawyers and the accused and to give better clarity to the accused persons, as to what is against them”, the court had said.
