 Delhi Hit by Chikungunya
Even as the capital city is struggling to get the dengue outbreak under control, health officials in Delhi are faced with a new threat with more than six cases of chikungunya virus diagnosed in the Palam Village on Wednesday.
The number of dengue cases in the city passed the 2,500 mark after 86 fresh cases were registered on Wednesday with health experts predicting that the number will easily surpass the 3,366 cases registered in 2006.

However the new danger of chikungunya virus has increased the problems for the health authorities in the capital who expect the number of cases to increase further due to incessant rains and large population of mosquitoes.

This is yet another blow as the city gets ready to host the CWG.
