Delhi Government Seeks Land Given to Private Companies for Hospitals
The Delhi government has asked the Union Ministry of Urban Development to cancel land allotments made to private companies, for construction of hospitals at 18 sites in the capital.
Government officials said the plots stretching over approximately 50 acres in different parts of the city had been allotted to the private players over 44 years ago.

“Construction on the plots was supposed to start in three years of allotment. However, no construction has been carried out so far. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is supposed to cancel the allotment if the construction is not carried out in the stipulated period,” a government official said.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has asked the Centre to take back the 18 plots of land from these private firms and hand them over to the Delhi government for the construction of hospitals and dispensaries.

Also, the official said that the state government had written to the DDA twice about revoking the 18 allotments made to parties.
