"Debt Slave" - Woman, 50, Selling' Herself to Relieve Debt

Malaysian woman, 50, living in Singapore, owing RM150,000, has put herself up for 'sale' for to settle her debts.

The unnamed divorcee says she has over RM146,000 (60,000 dollars) in debts, which accrued as she tried to save her coffee shop in Singapore that she had started four years ago and which was badly hit by the recession.

They told us we were in the camp brothel, that we were the lucky ones. We would eat well and have enough to drink. If we behaved and fulfilled our duties nothing would happen to us.

The woman, who has two daughters living in Malaysia, is ready to live with anyone who relieves her of her outstanding dues.

"I can be his employee, nurse, live-in friend, maid or wife," the Star Online quoted her as telling Nanyang Siang Pau.

She has even sent a two-page letter to the media to find a "buyer".
