Data Indicates Many People are Dying Alone
A new survey by the Local Government Association has indicated that many people in England and Wales are dying alone.

Based on the existing situation in 208 councils across England and Wales, the survey also found that councils spent 1.56 million last year for 2,200 public funerals.

"These tragic figures speak for themselves. People, mostly elderly, are dying around us with no family or friends nearby to care for them," said David Rogers of the LGA. The survey also found that the average cost of a funeral was 959
