 DASH Diet Best Way to Reduce Weight Healthily
An expert panel set up by the US News & World Report has recommended the DASH diet to be the best way of reducing weight in a healthy manner.
The panel was set up to rate 20 of the most popular diets that not only are effective in reducing excess weight, but do so in a healthy manner. The panel recommended the DASH, or Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, diet to be the most effective followed by TLC or Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, the Mayo Clinic Diet, and the Volumetrics Diet.

Paleo Diet, Raw Food Diet and Atkins Diet came at the other end of the list with the panel stating that they were the least nutritious diets. The panel included 22 members who ranked the diet on the scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best, depending on the nutrition and safety value.

“The whole point of this ranking is to help dieters lose weight in a healthful way. The ones toward the bottoms of the list are less nutritionally complete”, panel member and Los Angeles dietician, Andrea Giancoli said.
