One day in August 2014, she had uncontrolled vomiting which made her fall into diabetic coma. She was immediately rushed to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.After conducting several tests, she was diagnosed with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS). A condition that brings on severe episodes of sickness that can last between three days and four weeks.
“Others thought it was a problem with my gall bladder, or gastroparesis – a rare stomach condition. When I finally got the Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome diagnosis it was bittersweet. They hadn’t found cancer, which had been a worry, but there isn’t an answer either – because there is no cure for CVS. It was a process of elimination because there is no test,” said Duggan.
