Cure for Cancer Takes a Leap Forward With This Discovery
Nearly two decades of cancer research seems to have led to a breakthrough discovery by scientists at San Francisco's California Pacific Medical Center.
Researchers have discovered a compound derived from marijuana that has the power to arrest the spread of many kinds of aggressive cancers.

Researchers studied the properties of Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-toxic, non-psychoactive chemical compound found in the cannabis plant and its effect on the gene, ID-1 which causes the spread of cancer to other cells.

The two were combined in a Petri dish, and the experiment revealed that when CBD was present in the Petri dish, the cells returned to normal and stopped spreading.

Cannibidiol displayed the potential to switch off this aggressive gene from spreading and causing havoc.

Scientists also found that cannabidiol works with many kinds of aggressive cancers, especially those that portray high levels of ID-1.

The team intends to start their clinical trial and we are hoping this discovery makes a world of difference to the treatment of cancer.
