A new home DNA test kit could test couple compatibility in the coming years, a biologist claims. Professor Michael Gillings, a biologist from Macquarie University, said that he believed that it is inevitable, as it is going to be really easy to do.
He asserted that the testing will be quick, cheap and people will be able to buy it off the shelf and just do it.
Among other things, which the tests are capable of doing is to detect if someone is likelier to commit long-term or will cheat.
The tests work by profiling the genes controlling neurotransmitters like oxytocin (relates to commitment) and vasopressin (relates to fidelity), the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Gillings told CLEO magazine that when a person goes out with a new guy, they could get a sample of his DNA, sequence it and say, that they are going out with him, as he's got a tiny part of his gene that would be a good prediction he is going to be promiscuous.
The tests are currently only available in labs and are based on testing only males.
