Councils Fund Lap Dancing Club Visits for Disabled People
A new report has found that taxpayers’ money is being spent in procuring internet dating subscriptions, prostitutes and lap dancing club visits for the disabled.
Under a scheme costing 520 million pounds, the government in Britain has opted to give more say to the elderly and the disabled in how their funds are managed. An investigation by The Sunday Telegraph says that the money is being spent on pleasurable exotic holidays and visits to lap dancing clubs.

The report said that under the scheme, a local council was letting 21-year-old with learning disabilities have sex with a prostitute in Amsterdam next month. The social worker responsible for the case told the paper that they were there to identify and meet needs to these patients.

Neil Coyle, director of policy at Disability Alliance, said that many disabled people did not expect the state to dole out money for sexual activities.

"When people go to councils for help, they are looking for essential services to maintain some level of dignified existence – help to dress and wash. Given that councils have been drawing the most basic support from those who need it, I do not think this is the biggest concern of people with disabilities,” he added.

However there is major concern that taxpayers will be offended by the manner in which the money was being used.
