Cost of Keeping Global Warming in Check is Modest, Claims UN Panel
The cost of fighting global warming is "relatively modest", IPCC chairperson Rajendra Pachauri has said. However, this is only if the world acts quickly to reverse buildup of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere.

The panel said that without additional measures to cut emissions, temperatures globally will go up by about 3 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius by 2100 compared to current levels, reported.

According to the IPCC, the shift will entail a near-quadrupling of low-carbon energy.

The IPCC also said large changes in investments would be required for this.
