The cost of fighting global warming is "relatively modest", IPCC chairperson Rajendra Pachauri has said. However, this is only if the world acts quickly to reverse buildup of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere. The panel said that without additional measures to cut emissions, temperatures globally will go up by about 3 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius by 2100 compared to current levels, News24.com reported.
According to the IPCC, the shift will entail a near-quadrupling of low-carbon energy.
The IPCC also said large changes in investments would be required for this.
