Clinical Trial of NewLink and Merck’s Ebola Vaccine Put on Hold

Scientists have decided to put a hold on the Swiss clinical trials of Ebola vaccine from NewLink and Merck, where some volunteers reported joint pains.

Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, said that they were set to begin procurement of the vaccine as soon as the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended a vaccine for use.
