by Rajashri on Jul 17 2009 9:28 PM

An entire class of standard eight was shut down at an English medium school after five students tested positive for the H1N1 or the swine flu virus.

The children have been admitted to Naidu hospital's quarantined ward for treatment. Dr Sudhir Pachpute, the Superintendent of Naidu hospital said the infection could have originated from a student who had visited the US under a cultural exchange program.

This incident takes the total number of swine flu cases in Pune to 16. Doctors have asked people not to panic as all patients with symptoms of the disease were responding satisfactorily to the recommended drug regimen.
