Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh Registers Himself as Ayurvedic Practitioner
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has filed a fresh application to the state's Ayurvedic and Unani Medicine Board to register himself as a permanent Ayurvedic practitioner, official sources said Sunday.

Singh is currently registered as an Ayurvedic doctor with the Ayurvedic Board in Madhya Pradesh, of which Chhattisgarh was a part.

'Raman Singh has applied to the Ayurvedic and Unani Medicine Board in Chhattisgarh because it recently decided that all those ayurvedic practitioners who are still registered with the Madhya Pradesh board should now get themselves registered with the state board,' official sources told IANS.

'Singh filled up a registration form and signed a declaration paper at his official residence here Saturday in presence of Board chairman D.K Tiwari and Board registrar Rakchhpal Gupta,' the source added.

Singh, who became chief minister in December 2003, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery in 1975 from the Government Ayurvedic College in Raipur.
