Cheryl Cole Does Not Have Sympathy Towards Drug Addicts

by Medindia Content Team on Oct 31 2007 2:16 PM

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has no sympathy for drug addicts and drug-abusing celebrities and says if they are in pain, it's self-inflicted.

Contactmusic.com quoted her as saying: "That nightmare devastated family and friends. But I don't have sympathy for the addicts. I don't give a thought how they feel. If they're in pain, it's self-inflicted."

She admits she is "devastated' to see Amy Winehouse destroying her life but also blames celebs like Pete Doherty for glamorising drug use.

She added: "Pete Doherty is a waste of fresh air. Why are pictures of celebs shooting up entertainment? It's like the Mickey Mouse club and it's not funny."

Cole wants to open a support network for families of drug addicts once her career is over. She got inspired when she saw a close friend die from drug overdose two years ago.
