Stress and anxiety in this urban world has become like that one guest who has overstayed his welcome. Be it the professional commitments or deadlines or our personal equations, stress has invaded our lives much more intimately than ever.

Here are some foods and herbs that you can eat to beat stress naturally.

Milk: Fortified milk is an excellent source of vitamin D, a nutrient that might boost happiness. There is an association between reduced levels of vitamin D and an increased risk of panic and depression among men and women. So, milk consumption can help reduce depression and anxieties.

Banana: Bananas are rich in vitamin C which is an effective stress fighting nutrient. Bananas also help repair cell damage caused due to stress.

Chocolate: The scientists identified reductions in stress hormones and other stress-related biochemical changes in volunteers who rated themselves as highly stressed and ate dark chocolate for two weeks.

Coconut: Coconut contains medium chain fats that improve our mental health and cut down negativity. Did you know, that the scent of the coconut is also known to have a psychological effect that helps reduce anxiety and slows out heart rate.
