Kayleigh Davidson-Olley is overjoyed as she celebrates the 25th anniversary of her heart transplant.
It was only in October 1987 when she was barely five months old that she underwent the operation at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. She is the first UK baby to successfully survive a heart transplant at just five months after birth.
The heart transplant has allowed her to lead a normal life.
"I cannot believe that I am fit and healthy 25 years after my heart transplant."
"This was only made possible because of the generosity of a family who made that important decision about organ donation, a decision that saved my life."
"Without that family discussing organ donation, I simply would not be here."
"I hope that my own story and that of all the children at this special event will encourage others to be involved, if only to just talk about organ donation with their family."
