 CBIT Therapy Helps Relieve Tourette
Comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics or CBIT is found to relieve some of the distressing symptoms of Tourette syndrome and has helped many victims.
Researchers found that a 10-week course of intensive behavioral therapy relieved involuntary jerks and verbal outbursts characteristic of this disorder. Many child victims responded very well to this form of behavioral therapy.

Behavioral therapy may be a good option, especially since two-thirds of patients on drugs do not take them properly complaining of weight gain and drowsiness.

CBIT is not being used to its full extent and it is high time more awareness is created about its benefits, so that specialists try out this method first before resorting to medication.
