Cardiologist Elaborates on Seven Keys to Longevity
A leading cardiologist with the Heart and Stroke Foundation in the United States has said that choosing healthy lifestyle options could increase the possibility of living up to 90 years to more than 90 percent.
Feinberg School of Medicine’s Dr Clyde Yancy said that choosing to include seven lifestyle changes will help avoid the risk of not only cardiovascular diseases, but also a number of chronic illness that affect the elderly and thereby increasing the chances of living beyond 90 years of age.

According to Dr Yancy, the seven life style factors include: being physically active, controlling cholesterol levels, following a healthy diet, controlling blood pressure levels, maintaining a healthy weight, managing diabetes and avoiding tobacco products such as smoking.

“Achieving these seven simple lifestyle factors gives people a 90 per cent chance of living to the age of 90 or 100, free of not only heart disease and stroke but from a number of other chronic illnesses including cancer”, Dr Yancy said.
