Business Leaders Welcome Bid to Regulate Health and Safety Laws
The British government’s bid to regulate health and safety laws in the country has been welcomed by leading business leaders in UK though the Trade Union Congress (TUC) warned that steps should be taken to ensure that both the economy and the workers’ health and safety should be kept in mind.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) revealed its plans to cut off the “unnecessary red tape” that has tied down majority of the British businesses and said that it will be focusing on "high hazard".

According to DWP, those employers who have a good record will not face automatic health and safety inspections which will be limited only to high risk sites and “rouge” employers who consistent neglect the safety of their staff and public.

“The purpose of health and safety regulation is to protect people at work and rightly so. But we need common sense at the heart of the system, and these measures will help root out the needless burden of bureaucracy”, Employment minister Chris Grayling said.
