Bupa Australia Sues iSelect Over ‘misguiding’ TV Ad on Health Insurance
Bupa Australia, one of the biggest health insurers down under, and insurance comparison broker iSelect are fighting over 'false' and 'misguiding' claims made by iSelect in a TV advertising campaign, reports

In litigation against iSelect, Bupa has pleaded with the Federal Court to order iSelect to stop making claims that people do not have to undergo waiting periods while switching their health insurance policies. It also wants to be compensated for any financial loss incurred so far.

iSelect in the meantime stressed that it had not misled anyone. Paul Cross, head of corporate affairs said the firm would defend the court action.

Bupa says that iSelect is false in asserting that that anyone switching to a new health insurance provider would not be forced to serve a waiting period, and if they did, iSelect would pay them $499.
