Brits may not know their next-door neighbours, but they are very well aware of pop stars and footballers.

The results showed that on an average, a person knows the names of only seven people in their neighbourhood.
In 1982, this figure stood at 13, reports the Scotsman.
The YouGov research found the majority of people - 66 per cent - interact with their neighbours once a week or less.
