British Woman Overcomes Cancer; Succumbs to Accident

66-year-old Jean Allen died one hour after discovering that she had won her battle against breast cancer.

The mother of three was given the good news about her cancer battle and was driving home to husband Frank when she died in a freak accident.

Jean took a detour to avoid traffic, but ploughed into a ditch at Whittlesey, near Peterborough and died from drowning.

"Jean had very little injury at all. Emergency services pulled her car out of the ditch but she was dead. It's all the more heart-breaking because she had just been given the all-clear," The Sun Friday quoted Frank as saying.

Frank said he was upset as he felt his wife could have been alive today of it was not for the freak accident
