Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s elder daughter Zahara may need to undergo corrective surgery on her hip.

Zahara has hip dysplasia, a congenital condition where her thigh is connected to the hip improperly and may affect her ability to walk in the future.

A source told Star magazine that Jolie and Pitt were recently told by doctors that their daughter would need braces to help re-set her limbs.

"Brad and Angelina have talked with their paediatrician, who told them Zahara may need to have surgery," Contactmusic quoted the source, as telling the mag.

The insider also revealed that the couple are now determined to " do whatever it takes" to ensure their little girl is "happy and healthy".

When Jolie adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005, she was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration.

Apart from this doctors found out that she also had a rickets fracture in her arm, and salmonella poisoning.
