Individuals who shop after drinking are more generous in buying for others, reveals survey.
According to the survey by shopping comparison website Kelkoo, 43 percent of those surveyed said they had shopped online after drinking.
Kelkoo found that a quarter of "boozy shoppers" said they only bought the item because of the alcohol they had drunk, while a fifth of those questioned said that could not even remember what they had bought when they woke up the next morning.
Online retailer Gilt Groupe is starting more online sales at 9pm to take advantage of late-night shoppers.
"Post-bar, inhibitions can be impacted, and that can cause shopping, and hopefully healthy impulse buying," the Telegraph quoted Gilt Groupe, president Andy Page as telling the New York Times.
The key time for drunk shopping, according to Kelkoo, is between 11pm and 1am. eBay says that its busiest time is between 6.30pm and 10.30pm, while ecommerce firm ChannelAdviser says that orders peak at 8pm and the peak time is getting later.
