Blood Group Diets Gain Popularity in India
Indians are slowly adopting the blood group diets to lose weight after tiring from their regular diets, hitting the gym and practicing yoga.
These diets were devised by American naturopaths James D'Adamo and his son Peter D'Adamo. They say that the food eaten by people is metabolized in the body based on the blood group of the person.

"People with A blood type have a different set of characteristics from people who are Type O - they are susceptible to different diseases, they should eat different foods and exercise in a completely different manner," wrote Peter on their website www.dadamo.com.

The diets recommend that 'Type O' people should eat high proteins; while 'Type A' people should avoid heavy proteins and dig on carbohydrates. People who have Type B' blood group should drink more milk and avoid fruits like corns, lentils and peanuts.

Despite success of such diets, it is recommended that food and exercise must go hand in hand.
