Bill Gates has a completely different list of good news in this year, which is in complete contrast to most year-end lists.
Gates saw the world improving in 2013 with the most significant advancement in controlling polio, as he noted that an outbreak in the Horn of Africa was controlled in four months while India hadn't reported a single case in nearly three years.
According to news.com.au, Gates further noted that child mortality rate went down as half as many children died in 2012 as in 1990.
Other good news, which people missed include rich countries recommitted to saving lives and launch of the Global Burden of Disease website that helps people understand the impact of disease in different countries.
