Beware of Artificial Sweeteners

by Rajashri on Jul 17 2008 2:13 PM

A study by US researchers has revealed that artificial sweeteners used in low-calorie drinks can actually pile on the pounds.

The study says sweeteners induce the body to think it is about to get a rush of calories and when that does not happen, people are bound to get hungry and overeat.

Some of the low-fat culprits include breakfast bars, smoothies, salads and low-fat muffins.

So people who think low calorie means low-fat think again - you may actually be inviting flab.
