Are you feeling low and depressed? Reach out for some dough and start baking. A recent report from the Real Bread Campaign has revealed that baking can help people bounce out of depression.
John Whaite, The 2012 winner of BBC2's ‘Great British Bake Off’ , and a victim of chronic depression, has said that baking is akin to a “pill-less Prozac."
Whaite, who is the ambassador for the campaign group, Baking a Smile, has revealed the positives of baking for those in the throes of mental health issues. He has advised them to try their hand at baking and check how it could help them.
The Real Bread Campaign is of the opinion that there could be a lot of people who could benefit from the whole baking process. Kneading dough, mixing the ingredients, baking and enjoying the turnout can be therapeutic indeed!
