"Good health leads to good life. People have to be made aware of the close relationship between tobacco and cancer," he added.
Other participating speakers advocated tough measures to contain the use of tobacco which takes 400,000 lives annually.
Sandeep Agarwal, organizing secretary of the conference, told IANS that of the 800,000 cancer cases reported every year, half were caused by tobacco addiction. "If not addressed soon, it would become a huge menace."
