 Australia Opens It
Australia's Hangover Clinic does exactly what it sounds like - therapy for those who partied well the night before.
The aptly titled "Hangover Clinic" opened this week and offers its worse for wear patients a choice of "cures" that basically consist of an IV drip, a cocktail of vitamins and some medication.

Described on its website as a "revolutionary IV hangover," the treatments range from thirty minutes to one hour, with the latter offering an antioxidant boost and oxygen treatment. The service offers intravenous drips, painkillers and vitamins to relieve headaches and nausea.

The clinic’s three main packages, dubbed the “Jump Start”, “Energise” and “Resurrection”, range in price from $140-$200 and promise to help customers “jump start your engines, perform your best and tackle the post-party blues”.

While the clinic has been busy, not everyone is happy with its opening. "This encourages people to use alcohol in an entirely inappropriate way and it's something the government should look at very, very carefully," Michael Moore, chief executive of the Public Health Association of Australia, told the Sydney Morning Herald.

The clinic’s co-founder, Max Petro, says that such an accusation is unfair. "We don't serve alcohol. We are not a pub. We encourage binge drinking as much as hospitals encourage people to get sick," Petro said.

The clinic is currently open during prime drinking hours from Thursday to Monday between 6am and 2pm. The services are part of a global trend of administering hangover treatments that are already available in London, New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
