Antioxidant-Rich Black Raspberries Lauded as the New Superfood
People are starting to eat healthy by incorporating lots of veggies and fruits in their diet. Superfoods such as kale, broccoli, salmon and blueberries are gaining popularity among health-conscious people.
A recent study has revealed that black raspberries may turn out to be the new superfood. Researchers from the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland suggested that black raspberries grown in Central Europe show greater health benefits than its counterparts, raspberries or blackberries.

“Berries contain potent antioxidants, which decrease or reverse the effects of free radicals — natural byproducts of energy production that can play havoc on the body and that are closely linked with heart disease, cancer, arthritis, stroke or respiratory diseases,” said researchers.

They also said that the amount of antioxidants in black raspberries were three times higher than the other fruits. Also, anthocyanins in black raspberries are greater than other berries.
